Free Robinho: A Letter from Real Madrid to Santos
Dear Santos,
Please free Robinho.
Why must you insist on keeping a player who doesn't want to stay? €25 million euros is not enough money for you? Since when does a club put its economic interest before the welfare of their players?
We understand that Robinho (Robson de Souza) is a phenomenon, a player with great potential, who could rise to be the greatest player in the world. Thanks to his God-given talents he mocks defenders and out- dribbles entire teams.
We also know that he helped you win the Brazilian Championship for the first time in over 20 years, that in 2004 he scored 21 goals in 37 appearances in the Brasileiro championship, 4 goals in the Paulista championship and 4 goals in the Copa Libertadores and won the Balon de Oro, as the best Brazilian player of 2004.
If indeed, Robhino is to become the best, he needs to play with the best at the best team in the world. He needs to be seen around the world so the world can see his talents and be in awe.
In his press-conference he has reiterated that he wants to join our team now. Yet you still refuse to free him of his contractual obligations. You want too much and you will end up with nothing.
Furthermore, because of his fame, it is not safe for him to continue in Brazil . Did you not hear? His mother was kidnapped for 40 days. This must have been a terrible experience for him. He must leave.
We have taken your coach and now we will have your best player, whether you like it or not. You must accept the inevitable. You must free Robinho. It is his destiny.
Sincerely,
Real Madrid C.F. |
